A Study In Unfeasibility

Europe.

With the UK election coming up fast, one of the key issues seems to be the whole Europe thing. Should the UK be more integrated into the EU?

I say yes. Absolutely.

Quite apart from the fact that the UK needs to stop being the “51st State”, the UK would be at the centre of a stronger European Union, transforming the EU into the economic powerhouse it’s always promised to be. Somehow, people think of this as a loss of “British-ness”, whatever that may mean. And as for the whole giving up the Pound thing - is France any less French now that they use the Euro? Nope. You can still enjoy wine, cheese and a croissant in Paris whilst marvelling at the Eiffel Tower. Is Germany any less German? Is Ireland any less Irish? All that’ll happen is the bits of paper and metal you pay for things with will look a bit different. The coins will still have the Queen on them. Plus you’ll never need to change up your money whenever you go on holiday in Europe. Plus, most Brits have experience with the Euro already from their foreign travels.

In the words of a marketing exec for a famous footwear brand, “just do it”.
