I think I’ve invented a new music genre - “dub-doom-step-metal”. Yes, it’s ugly. Give it a listen… a snippet of a song in progress called “Disconnection”. Big speakers recommended for maximum freaky bass…

Mark King from Level 42 on The Tube, 1985 - this is the video that made me decide I wanted to play bass.

Check this!  The same guy doing an impression of Richard Ayoade as Moss from the IT Crowd.  His Moss is a little better.

Via weird's all i've got. that and my sweet style.

Affirmation.

Charlie Brooker expands on what I was talking about in my last post…

Imagination.

Outside of novels, the best storytelling you find these days is in video games. Some films tell great stories, but most don’t have the time and scope to space the narrative out over an appropriate timescale, or to give your imagination enough fodder to fill in the blanks. Look at the likes of L.A. Noire - there’s hours of storytelling in there. And I’m looking forward to the narrative of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, as I loved the storyline of the first game.

I think this is what I want to do (again). It also solves my earlier dilemma about whether to be involved with advertising….

In the meantime, can some enterprising game company sign up Iain Banks, so we can have a Culture game?

My son will be this cool one day. :)
